Meet and Greet with Australian Civil Society Representatives
The Australian Government will be hosting a meet & greet event from 6.30pm – 7.30pm Sunday 13 March 2016 at the Westin Grand Central Hotel. This is an opportunity to network with other civil society representatives on the ground in New York before official CSW proceedings kick off. You do not need to RSVP for this event.
Daily briefing sessions
The Australian Government will be hosting daily briefing sessions for Australian civil society representatives each evening during the first week of CSW (Mon – Thurs) from 5.30-6.00pm at the Westin Grand Central Hotel. This is an opportunity to get the latest updates on what’s happening on the ground at CSW and engage in discussions with members of the Australian Government delegation and other civil society representative on the negotiation of the Agreed Conclusions. You do not need to RSVP for these briefing sessions however please note that seating is limited so we advise arriving early if this is an issue for you.
Advice regarding time and location of evening briefings from Friday 18 March onwards will be circulated to those people who are on the ground at CSW, please ensure we have your US contact details so that you don’t miss out on important updates.
Australian hosted reception
Australia’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations is hosting an evening reception for the Australian Government delegation and Australian civil society representatives contact OfW for more information on this event.
Asia / Pacific NGO Dialogue
The Australian Human Rights Commission invites you to attend the Asia / Pacific NGO Dialogue, 6.00pm – 7.30pm, Wednesday, 16 March at the Westin Grand Central Hotel (see attached invite for more details). The dialogue is an opportunity for Australian NGOs and Asia Pacific NGOs to share women’s and girls’ human rights issues and gender equality issues for CSW60, with representatives of the Australian Government delegation, and representatives from other Pacific delegations (subject to their availability). We would very much appreciate your assistance with circulating the invitation via your networks.
Asia-Pacific Civil Society Forum on Sustainable Development
The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is convening the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) 2016 in Bangkok from 3 – 5 April, 2016. Please see attached flyer for more information including how to register (due 28 February 2016).
As we get closer to CSW, please ensure to keep an eye out for further updates, including information on Australian hosted side events. If your organisation is hosting a parallel event the Office for Women would be happy to circulate details via the mailing list on your behalf.
