The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is the largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women in the world, with ten million girl guides and girl scouts in 145 countries. WAGGGS delivers high quality non-formal educational programmes and international opportunities for girls and young women.
Violence against girls and women is an all too common problem around the world. It happens to girls and young women who live in the communities where we have pledged to make a difference. It happens to our family and friends, it happens to people within the Movement. We have a responsibility to these girls and young women and an opportunity to empower them to speak out and take action.
Five key pillars
WAGGGS is creating a global community committed to ending violence against girls and young women. The campaign is focusing on five areas:
1 Awareness raising
3 Research and policy
5 Campaign action plans
