Title:   Sexual, Reproductive and Maternal Health Manager

CARE PNG currently has two projects focused on Sexual, Reproductive and Maternal Health (SRMH): the Maternal and Infant Health (MIH) Project in Eastern Highlands Province; and the Youth SRH (KTA) Project in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB). The goal of the KTA project is to improve the sexual and reproductive health of young people in target locations of Bougainville by training and capacity building community volunteers to act as Peer Educators. The MIH Project integrates community based analysis of local gender and power norms with best practice maternal health interventions in order to address both underlying and intermediate causes of maternal and infant death, disease and poor health. This role will directly oversee the management of the MIH project and supervise the KTA project manager.

To be successful in this role you will be experienced in project management, evaluation and design in international development, preferably within an international NGO and in Papua New Guinea and/or the Pacific Region. Your knowledge working in public health, particularly Sexual, Reproductive and Maternal Health in a developing country context will be highly regarded along with your understanding of gender equality and women’s empowerment. You will also possess strong leadership skills, financial management experience and high level communication skills, including experience in proposal writing, as well as the ability to build strong networks and relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
